Metered nodes, settled in stablecoins

RPC, storage and compute are billed on what ran. Record it as it happens, close the period into a real invoice, and collect without an invoicing week.

Why it suits infrastructure

You define it
Any meter

Requests, gigabytes, node hours, egress. Record what your product actually counts.

Billed
In arrears

The period closes on what was recorded, with the figure on the invoice.

By the approval
Capped

A metered period can never collect more than the customer signed for.

Onchain settlement
No chargebacks

A confirmed transaction is final. There is no card network to reverse it later.

Your systems

The period, as a stream of events

Metering is a loop between your platform and your billing. Both ends should know where it is.

Recorded as it happens

Post usage continuously or in batches. Idempotency keys make retries safe.

Explained on the invoice

The bill carries the usage figure that produced it, per meter and per region.

Confirmed before paid

A submitted transaction is followed until the chain agrees. Nothing is paid on optimism.

Questions

Before you wire up the meters

Our customers are other companies. Does that work?
Yes. Each customer is a record with its own subscription, its own meters and its own invoices, and the payment comes from whichever wallet they fund.
Can we bill a committed minimum plus overage?
Price the plan with an included allowance and a rate beyond it. The period bills the minimum, then the overage on what was recorded.
What happens if a customer disappears?
A failed collection retries on a spaced schedule and then pauses the subscription rather than retrying forever, so your meters stop against a plan that is no longer paying.

Bill the infrastructure the way it runs

Metered, in arrears, settled in stablecoins with the figure on the document.
